Proliferating Coexistence
BA Degree show, Dec 2022
This projet involves the intricate process of stitching together pierced, protruding, interconnected sculpture, wall, and video with a tattoo of a ‘hybrid texture.’ The various media coexist in the installation, using the collision and connection of their open bodies as layers in the foreground, creating a harmonious cynthesis.
Becoming a Sensation of impending death
Oct 2023
This project is an exploratory endeavour into the imagination of the sense of death, modelled after the nomadic life of a hermit crab positioned at the lowest stratum of the ecological hierarchy. The performance mimics the obsessive behaviour of a hermit crab in its relentless search for a home solely dedicated to its own life.
Beautiful Deformity
BA Outdoor Sculpture show, 2022
This artwork attempts to disrupt the cellular transformations within the human psyche and dismantle the self-destructive structures of society. Placed outdoors, the sculpture proliferates and extends in a form that reverses the shape of the human body and flesh. It symbolises a post-reverse human being embracing self-destructive transformations as a positive exploration of new possibilities.
Jang Saeng(Lone life) Mask Series
: Baby Betta Mask
May 2022, Oct 2023
Over the course of two years living alone with the pet fish 'Jang Saeng,' the artist observed the fish as a vital companion, serving as a life support device. In this unique relationship, they mutually took responsibility for each other's life and death, creating a reversed dynamic where the fish became integral to the artist's well-being. Given the spatial disparity
between the terrestrial realm and the aquatic environment inhabited by both entities, the process of reciprocal life support heavily relies on visual observation. This necessity led to the development
of the series, a virtual respiratory device that introduces a novel translation and synchronisaion of breath.
